Over two sticky July days in central London the Grosvenor Summer Auction blew away all expectations,  raising over £1 million for its delighted vendors. Like the proverbial curate’s egg, parts of this auction were excellent, despite a disappointing number of lots that failed to find new homes. Collections and selections that provided depth of interest for collectors and potential for dealers attracted particularly enthusiastic bidding whilst some ‘old favourites’ were disappointing on the day.

On December 9th GROSVENOR celebrated its 25th Anniversary, at the same time holding its 150th Auction.

The British Empire & Foreign Countries auction of December 8/9 was a sale of broad appeal and showcased the first part of the extensive collection formed by Dr Brian Austen. The sale total for ‘GPA 150’ came in at £511,469, well in excess of the pre-sale estimate.

The Specialised Great Britain auction held at Grosvenor on November 9th/10th  more than satisfied pre-sale expectations with a final sale total of £708,771.
