Selling Your Collection

Grosvenor auctions is the United Kingdom’s leading philatelic specialist auction house. The Grosvenor team are always working with your interests in mind. We provide you with a highly experienced in-house team of philatelic professionals backed by an exceptional team of consultants covering all aspects of the philatelic world.

Benefits of public auction

Vendors can be assured that our only interest is to achieve the best possible return.

While on very few occasions it may be beneficial for the seller to sell by private treaty, public auction allows for the optimum market price to be achieved.

Quality of Service

We work closely with collectors to ensure that the presentation and prices achieve the highest possible expectations.

From the first moment of contact, we will ensure that vendors are kept informed of the auction process.

Catalogues

Our beautifully presented catalogues, with comprehensive descriptions and high-quality images provide purchasers with the tools to bid in confidence.

Not only do our catalogues act as important points of reference for many collectors but they are an apt testament to a lifetime of collecting.

Advertising

Auctions are widely advertised online and through philatelic press and study circle journals.

With close relationships with many study circles and a large, worldwide mailing list, we ensure that our sales are well viewed and our auctions well attended.

Charges

Vendors are charged a simple percentage of the total sale result. We do not impose ‘hidden’ or ‘additional’ charges such a lotting or unsold fees.

We simply charge a commission rate which starts at 15% + VAT and is negotiable depending on the value of the consignment.

Payment

Prompt and easy payment is assured with payment being made 35 days after the sale.

We believe it is unfair to make the vendor wait longer than the agreed period, and it is our obligation to chase outstanding debts.
