Fiji: 1941 Fiji Bomber Fund labels, 1941 (May 4) to Wellington and (May 20) locally addressed, two envelopes bearing 21/2d. on 2d. with Bomber Fund label at left, (June 16) envelope (opened for display with top of front side torn away, 11/2d. and 5d. adhesives remaining) sent from Waiyevo to Wellington with almost complete sheet of labels on reverse (missing lower left label but with selvedge) tied by Waiyevo c.d.s's and additionally cancelled by Suva May 20 transit, 1942 (May 25) cover unusually registered from Nadroga to Sydney (redirected within the city), franked by 1d. and 2d. (3) with label on reverse, all tied by Nadroga c.d.s's and showing Nadroga registration handstamp, Suva, Sydney and Homebush transit datestamps, also four labels (two on small piece, one tied by c.d.s), some minor tone spotting. (8 items) In his 1982 monograph Bryan Jones records just 45 surviving covers that bear Bomber Fund labels, multiples being particularly rare.
