Watermarks: A QV to KE VII study collection of the 480 Crown Mill Sheet written up in a Safe album, showing the various relationships found between the crowns and the corner angle watermarks to allocate examples to particular Dandy Rollers, mainly illustrated using used KE VII 1/2d's and 1d's but also some mint multiples and 1881 1d. lilacs, a further section shows the various dimensions found between individual letters of the ''POSTAGE'' watermarks and the nearest crown, both upright and inverted, using mostly used KE VII 1d's with some 1/2d's, and a few mint multiples, also a selection of misplaced wmks. showing portions of two crowns on the stamps, a few mint QV controls, 1880–81 1d. Venetian red mint block of 12, etc., a few with faults, mainly fine. (approx. 320 items).

Watermarked Paper: A piece of emblems watermarked paper approx 300 x 160mm, containing three complete panes of twenty, inscribed (upside down) in ink 'March 1862', 'Specimen sheet sized with starch + rosin to obtain opacity' and 'Does not belong to any stock' folded and some staining affecting two rows of one pane, a most unusual and interesting item. Watermarked Paper: The lower seven rows of twelve of a sheet of bluish small anchor (12mm) watermarked paper, less three impressions from the top row, dated '1868' in ink and inscribed 'Not to be lighter in colour' with 'Tested for defective ingredients' and initialled, further initialled 'E B B' and dated '27 Sept 76', some faults but most unusual.

Watermarked Paper: A piece of watermarked paper in the form of the front of an envelope (140 x 89mm) the script watermarked address 'T J Marshall & Co, Dandy Roll Makers, Stoke Newington, London' and with a watermarked representation of a 1d. lilac at upper right corner, most unusual. The invention of the 'dandy roll' is usually attributed to John Marshall, of the firm T.J. Marshall of London, established in 1792.
