Portugal: Revenues: 1861 De La Rue ''EXPERIMENTAL POSTAGE/THREE PENCE'' essay with the head of the King Pedro V of Portugal defaced by a cross, die proof in black on glazed card (40 x 35mm.), surface faults. Believed to be the only recorded die proof. This item was found in the desk drawer of Robson Lowe after his death in 1997. It was originally in the De La Rue daybook which he acquired in the early 1970s. Photo.
