This newly come to light control example of the Prussian blue is an interesting item, it was bought by the vendor, as a teenager, working in the Edmonton area. He bought a set of control singles from the Post Office (he believes 134 Fore Street, Upper Edmonton) but the following weekend bought a set in blocks of four from his local Post Office in Watford, and the set of singles was placed out of sight in a duplicate box. In 1951 a fellow collector asked if the vendor had a spare 1935 Silver Jubilee set and the set of control singles was produced, it was only then that the difference in shade was noticed and this was confirmed by a B.P.A. certificate.
