Co. steamer to Panama and then by rail to Colon, arriving on March 9th 1879, transferred to R.M.S.P ‘Para’, the cover was then carried to St. Thomas where it was transferred to the Mexico service (R.S.M.P. ‘Tiber’) finally arriving at Vera Cruz on May 2nd. An unusual routing of mail between British Post Offices abroad without passing through the U.K.
